Key Takeaways – World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit London 2019

It’s a Wrap – World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit London 2019

The World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit saw the biggest gathering in London to date, with over 500 global agri-food companies, investors and innovators at the cutting edge of technology innovation and the future of food production. Outside the sessions it was all about making business connections, with multiple new collaborations and partnerships announced on site including Provivi’s $85m Series C financing co-led by Pontifax Global Food and Agriculture Fund.

Teaming up again for our Pitch Day with the Tesco Agri-T Jam, Roboscientific beat off stiff competition from over 100 applicants for the opportunity to develop its solution with Tesco’s supply chain partners.  Charlotte Smith, Presenter at BBC Farming Today also popped in to speak with our agribusiness experts and start-ups onsite and discover how successful farmers like Becci Berry of Brimstone Farm – Farmers Weekly Dairy Farmer finalist – is thinking about the future role that technology can have in farming.

Two fast paced days of panels, fireside chats and roundtable discussions covered smart farming, advanced crop protection, gene-editing, robotics and AI, supply chain traceability and scaling investment for start-ups. We’ve included a few of our favourite speaker soundbites from the summit below:
