European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) are EU-funded centres designed to help SMEs and public organisations adopt advanced technologies, but the agri-food sector is largely missing out, with only 1.7% participation by September 2024. Structural barriers such as poor broadband connectivity, limited cloud infrastructure, and financial challenges hinder agriculture's digital adoption, particularly in Eastern and Southern Europe. The study calls for sector-specific hubs, stronger policy frameworks, and more empirical research to bridge these gaps and ensure agriculture benefits from digital transformation, crucial for climate goals and food security.

The company plans field trials in the US and Brazil, targeting species like Aedes aegypti and Drosophila suzukii, aiming for safer and more sustainable pest control compared to traditional chemical pesticides and sterile insect techniques.
